Children's Book Illustrator
Responsibilities: Children's Book Illustrators are responsible for creating imagery to accurately bring authors' stories to life in an age-appropriate way.
Required Credentials: Although there are no specific requirements to become an illustrator for children's books, your education level does play a role in determining the types of projects you are capable of handling and the kinds of clients you appeal to.
Certificate Program

Other days are spent more creatively by designing characters, taking reference photos, and finding props. Research is also a key part of the job, which can include visits to libraries, travelling to book locations, and conducting model interviews. In addition to these, Harris also manages page designs, character sketches, reviewing the publisher's feedback, supplies, conventions, and teaching children at schools. All these tasks help to sum up the dynamic life of a children's book illustrator.
