To add value to my piece, I went in with blue watercolor. I am happy I went in with blue because I think it makes Jimmy look more three-dimensional. I additionally tinted the background yellow to make the piece more cohesive. I also went in with watered-down white acrylic paint to pull out some highlights and to color the basketball net more realistically. As I continue to work on this piece, I plan to reshape Jimmy's face a bit more. I plan to make his nose a little wider and his eyes squint more in order to better reflect not only the reference image, but the overall theme. For my theme, it is important that Jimmy is smiling big, so I plan to put more of an effort into that detail. I will also attach medical tubing to the top. My mom is helping me get the tubing. She has clear tubing and green tubing, so I need to decide which color of tubing to use.
